Located in Glebe Point Road, Ombretta is serving truthful Italian regional food in a casual environment.
Ombretta opened in May 2013 and is located beside the Toxteth Hotel in Glebe. Since then, it has been serving quality interpretations of classic Italian dishes and it quickly conquered a special place in the heart of both the local and Sydney’s community.
It is now under the guidance of the new owner and longtime restaurant manager Giacomo Palladin with renewed energy and a freshly designed Venetian menu, in addition to our monthly regional highlights and our wine tasting themed events.
We work with a small menu, crafted with love using only local and sustainable produce. All Italian imported ingredients are DOP certified (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) which granted us the prestigious Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Award ‘Ospitalità Italiana’ since 2016.
The historical building (ca. 1890) and the recently renovated interiors pay tribute to Glebe's historical past while creating a familiar and approachable atmosphere. The covered front courtyard facing the quieter part of Glebe Point Road is a fantastic place to unwind on a warm summer night but is equipped to shelter from Sydney's unpredictable weather, too.
